What do you mean, you haven’t taken any photos?
I’m forever nagging my clients to take photos of themselves for their personal LinkedIn profiles.
"You travel, meet customers, visit trade shows, all great photo ops," I say. "Give me something visual to work with to help boost your visibility on LinkedIn."
We all know that real people and real stories lift reach and help audiences connect with the person behind the words.
And yet… I’ve mostly dodged the camera myself, reluctant to show my face on social media.
After a conversation with a fellow freelancer the other day, the penny finally dropped: "As a communication consultant, you are competing directly with AI. People want to know they’re dealing with a human, not a machine or an anonymous, faceless company."
I get it. I always got it. But somehow, I still thought it didn’t apply to me.
Well, now that I’ve done my first podcast on here, the keeping-my-face-off-social-ship has sailed anyway. Might as well introduce myself.
If you share a love of words, believe you’re way better at communication than AI, or just enjoy a good conversation, say hello and connect.
